A young monk from the Tse Chokling Gompa in McLeodganj. Rs 150 gets you a room with a bed, a chair, a table, a shared bath and all the peace and quiet in the world you could ever ask for. Of course I couldn't leave without at least one shot of that unique shade of red.. and this li'l guy was only too happy to oblige. Tashi Delek !

Sometimes the challenge with photographing a much-photographed monument lies in finding a uncommon point of view. Experts also suggest taking photographs under unusual weather conditions or using uncommon backdrops. Few people have identified this monument correctly at first glance. The sky has been rendered that wonderful shade of blue by the camera alone.. I have no idea how.. given that it was a P&S ! This is ,in fact, the Taj Mahal.

Sometimes you just need to look around you to find a beautiful thing to photograph.. even an everyday commonplace thing is transformed into something beautiful when seen through the lens of your camera. This photograph was taken with my first camera a Kodak Z712 in a hotel room and is one of my favorite images .. although it may not quite measure up to strict photography standards.. the play of light and shadow ,the warmth was what caught my attention.. and of course.. I had no other choice but to photograph it.. Im a compulsive clicker !
